A lode is a vein of metallic ore in the rock. These paintings are my response to the visual intricacies of pattern and colour within the rocks and to the layers of mining history.

Spring rising in Davetown

I also call this image 'The eye in the ground' for the colours and shapes are resonant of the peacock feather.
